Nurses Magazine awarded Rep. Carla Cunningham with its esteemed Lifetime Achievement award saying,

"Rep. Carla D. Cunningham, BSN, RN is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 106, which includes parts of Mecklenburg County, including Charlotte. A registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, she has worked in hospice care and healthcare education. Since 2013, Rep. Cunningham has championed healthcare, mental health, and women’s and children’s rights through her legislative work and committee leadership."
